What is the best fabric for a burp cloth? ›

Burp cloths are made of 3 layers of super- absorbent fabric, the front and back layers are made of 100% cotton and the middle layer is polyester, which is extra soft and breathable, gentle on baby's sensitive skin，and makes baby feel more comfortable.

Muslin Cloth v's Burping Cloths

Use – These are used during feeding to wipe away small amounts of milk. While spit-up pads protect you and your clothes when burping a newborn. Size – Muslin cloths are square in shape and measure 25cm x 25cm. They are smaller in size than spit-up rags.

Lemon and Salt

Lemon juice combined with salt can act as a natural abrasive cleaner to remove green corrosion. Simply slice a lemon in half, sprinkle salt on the cut side, and rub the corroded area. The lemon's acidity helps dissolve the corrosion, while the salt is a cleaning abrasive. Once done, rinse with water.

Water + Vinegar + Salt

For larger pieces, try dunking the tarnished item in a boiling 3:1 mixture of water to vinegar plus about a tablespoon of salt. Some further spot treatment may be required, but this should get you off to a good start.

Purchase ⅓ yard of flannel for each of your homemade baby burp cloths. I also used Cotton Batting for padding. The cotton flannel and batting are both washable and absorbent.
