Comedian Miranda Hart has teased her fans with a sneak peek of her new husband.
The big reveal came after Miranda, 51, discreetly announced on The One Show that she had tied the knot in secret.
In a playful video shared by Miranda, she gives a cheeky high-five to her off-camera spouse and expresses her gratitude to her adoring fans: "I've got my best friend to do life with and it's wonderful. And I'm also utterly thrilled to be back in tele land and having a book out. Um so yeah, thanks so much for all your support."
She wrapped up the segment with a humorous touch, saying: "High-five husband. Ho ho. Exclusive, his hand. Bye". In the accompanying caption, Miranda wrote a heartfelt message: "Thank you for being happy that I am happy. You're very sweet and kind. And how we met is a little reveal in the book I hope you enjoy. X."
The comments section quickly erupted as fans were eager for more than just a brief glimpse of a hand and extended their congratulations to the star. One fan commented: "You're such a wonderful-hearted (if that's a word! ) person I'm so pleased your heart is as wonderfully happy! " Others remarked: "Congratulations to you both, it was great to see you on the telly x," and "Nobody deserves it more than you."
During her appearance on The One Show with hosts Alex Jones and Alex Scott, Miranda opened up about her secret wedding while discussing her upcoming book, "I Haven't Been Entirely Honest With You.", reports the Mirror.
Ecstatic about her personal joy, she exclaimed: "I'm married, I got married at 51 and it's just so lovely! I'd written Gary for onscreen Miranda and it wasn't until I was 49 that I met my person. It's a little undercurrent in the book, I'm not going to reveal how we met because that's a little bit of a twist. He's my best friend, we had the best fun and I'm just thrilled to be a young bride at 51."
She also spoke candidly about her battles with health and finding love amid adversity: "The fact that I met someone during a pandemic, during chronic illness, when I couldn't get out of bed or out of the house... I really, really wanted to meet someone, I didn't want to do life on my own anymore.
"The fact that I could meet somebody, it's not some sort of romcom story but it's hope. Whatever situation you are in, there is always hope, things really do change."
The comedian recently shared insights into her personal struggles along with exciting news about her book on Instagram, noting: "Big news – book out in a week. I share lots of stories of my last decade – mainly what I have learnt living with chronic illness – but there's lots of fun and some of my own big news."
After sharing the news, The One Show tweeted their congratulations to the star: "Lovely news! Congratulations to @mermhart who has revealed that she recently got married."
Fans were overjoyed, with one saying: "This makes me so happy! ! i love Miranda hart so much."
