McFarland DEATH NOTICES ALOISIO, Santo Santo Aloisio, 81, of Newington, beloved husband of Giuseppa (Miano) Aloisio, died Sunday (January 28, 2001). Born September 27, 1919, in Canicattini Bagni province of Siracusa, Italy, he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Rosaria Aloisio.

He served in the Italian Army and in Italy was a mason by trade. Besides his wife, he is survived by two loving daughters, Sara "Rosaria" Menta of Newington with whom he made his home and Maria DiLuciano and her husband, Salvatore of Newington; four grandchildren, Paula, Lisa, Joseph and Danny. He was predeceased by a son-inlaw, Luigi Menta. Funeral service will be Wednesday, 9:15 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Wethersfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m.

Baron was uary 23, 1954 and was a daughter of the late Theodore and Doris (Lundblad) Hintz. She attended local schools including Immanuel Lutheran School and was employed as a claims manager for 25 years at Allstate Insurance Company. A Burlington resident for the past 17 years, she was an active member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Forestville. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Baron is survived by a son, Christopher Pipitone; a daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and David Edelson of Berlin; three step children, Steve Baron of Terryville, Christine Bidanset of New Hartford, and Elizabeth Baron of Arizona; two brothers, David Hintz of Wallingford, and Gary Hintz of Torrington; nine grandchildren, Autumn, Aaron, Bethany, Miriah, Kyle, Jenna, Chelsey, Desiree, and Joshua; her father and mother in law, Joseph and Mary Baron of Bristol; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Beaulac, 67, of Muirfield Court, Poughkeepsie, NY, died in Vassar Brothers Hospital, Poughkeepsie, NY. He leaves several cousins, among whom is Betty F. Shepard of Fitchburg, MA; a brother, Brother Robert F. Beaulac, a brother of the Assumption Order who died in Nov. 2000.

He was born in Fitchburg, MA, May 19, 1933, the son of Ernest and Isola (Gagne) Beaulac and raised there before going to Cheshire and Poughkeepsie, NY many years ago. Dr. Beaulac was a graduate of Assumption Preparatory school, where he received his B.A. from Assumption College in 1958, and his Masters and PhD from the University of Connecticut in 1967. Dr.

Ernest Beaulac, headmaster Emeritus, Cheshire Academy, arrived at Cheshire Academy in 1958 teaching English, Social Studies ands Foreign Languages. In 1966 he named dean of students, overseeing the discipline and well-being of over 600 students. In 1973, he was appointed assistant headmaster and served as the headmaster of the academy for 11 years from 1975-1986. In recent years Dr. Beaulac had been updating the history of the school and returned often to attend variety of campus events.

He was a former member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, in Fitchburg, MA. The funeral will be held Wednesday morning, from the LaveryChartrand Funeral Home, 99 Summer Fitchburg, MA, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 81 Sherdidan St.

BENYEI, John S. John S. Benyei, 62, of Charles Street, Torrington, died Saturday, (January 27, 2001) at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. He was the husband of Gizella Zeldnak Benyei. Mr.

Benyei was born in Hungary, September 7, 1938, then came to Torrington in 1957. Mr. Benyei was the son of the late John and Mary Himer Benyei. He had been employed by the Torrington Company as a grinder for many years. He was aa avid fisherman.

He is survived by a son, John S. Benyei, Ill and his wife, Carrie of West Hartford; a daughter, Gizella and her husband, David Colombie of New Hartford; three sisters, Elizabeth Szabo, Veronica Szigeti and Violet Vegh, all of Hungary; four grandchildren, Michelle, John, Jaclin, and David. He was predeceased by a brother, Steve Benyei; and a sister, Mary Papp. The funeral will be held Thursday, 9:45 a.m. from the Driscoll Mortuary, 138 Migeon Torrington, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St.

Memorial donation can be made at Conard High School Athletic Department, 112 Berkshire Road, West Hartford, 06107. BIRD, Dr. Frank Luther Dr. Frank Luther Bird, a surgeon who practiced in Willimantic' for 30 years, died Sunday (January 28, 2001) in his home in Scotland. He was 75.

Born in Netcong, NJ, to Mary Roser and Frank Bird, Dr. Bird was educated at Yale and Cornell Universities. captain in the U.S. Air Force following World War I1, he was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany, and later worked as a medical resident at Bellevue Hospital in New York City, NY. Before moving to Storrs in 1962, he was a medical missionary in Tabriz, Iran, forth three years, under the auspices of the Presbyterian Church.

An avid reader, lover of the outdoors and member of the Scotland Congregational Church, Dr. Bird served chief of staff at the WindCommunity Memorial Hospital in the early 1970s and president of the Scotland Historical Society in the late 1990s. He is survived by his wife, Linda; his first wife, Sigrid; his children, Christiane of New York City, NY, Frank of Dunstable, MA, and David of Phoenix, AZ; and three grandchildren. His funeral service will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Scotland Congregational Church, Rte.

Cameron was employed by Construction Equipment of Windsor for 10 years before retiring having been previously employed by Phoenix Fire Insurance and Fusco Oil Co. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Windsor, was active with the former Mom's Club at church and was a lifelong lover of animals. Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Phillip M. Cameron of Windsor; three daughters, Virginia L. Owsiak of Hinsdale, NH, Patricia C.

DiMeo of Windsor, Barbara J. Cameron of Windsor; seven grandchildren, Deborah Fisher, Donna Derivan, Jane Owsiak, Gina Ballard, Jason DiMeo, Heather Cameron and Todd Cameron; and five great grandchildren. He was born in West Hartford and lived in the greater Hartford area all of his life. Denis was a associate accountant with the Bureau of Aviation and Ports with the State of Connecticut at the time of his death. Born in Hartford, the son of the late Antonia and Filomena Capella, he made his home in West Hartford for 53 years. He graduated as an Ensign from the U.S.

Maritime School for Officers in 1944 and served four years in the Maritime Service as a 1st lieutenant, Sr. Grade. Jim was the former owner of Ringside Grill Cafe on Maple Ave. in Hartford and was currently working for Connecticut Spring Stamp Co. He was a life member of the American Radio Relay League, member of the Pioneer Valley Repeater Assoc.

and was a current member of the Connecticut Thunderbirds Club. His favorite hobby was antique cars. Beside his wife of 63 years, he is survived by his three children, Phyllis Campbell of Newington, James F. Capella and his Barbara of Farmington, David J. Capella and his wife, Bernadette of Newington; and four grandchildren, William Campbell, Christine Capella, James C.

Born in Wallingford, he graduated from Choate School in 1922 and Yale University in 1926. He had been associated with Putnam Co. for 40 years from 1926 through 1966, retiring as managing partner. From 1949-1961 he was the treasurer of St. James Episcopal Men's Club of West Hartford.

He was a former member of the Connecticut Historical Society, the Wethersfield Historical Society, the University Club of Hartford, Beta Theta Pi Fraternity, and the Old Guard. He was also a former member of the Highland Park Club of Lake Wales, FL. He particularly enjoyed cabinetmaking and outdoor construction prodred W. Cowles; two sonhis Frederic jects. He is survived wife, Cowles Ill and his wife Janet of Canton, Robert S.

Cowles and his wife Berthe of South Londonderry, VT; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. He was predeceased by first wife, Dorothy S. Cowles; and his brother, Philip B. Cowles. DAVIS, Rosemarie (Palermo) Rosemarie (Palermo) Davis, 76, of Manchester, formerly of Hamden, died Sunday (January 28, 2001) at John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington following a courageous battle with cancer. Mrs. Davis, daughter of the late Joseph F. and Ida May (Polari) Palermo, was born in New Haven, December 5, 1924, graduated from Hamden High School in 1943 and attended New Haven Business College.

After coming to Manchester in 1960, she became a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, the YMCA, the Girls Scouts of America and the 4-H Club. Prior to retiring in 1991 she was employed by the Ear, Nose, and Throat Group of Manchester for 17 years. Mrs. Davis was an avid golfer with the Manchester Senior Citizens and at the Minnichaug Golf Course, and was also a tennis player at the Manchester Racquet Club.

Rosemarie enjoyed bowling with the Perfume League and playing bridge with all of her dear friends. She is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Lynne and lhor Tinyszin of Connecticut; her sons and daughterin-law, John M. Davis II of Connecticut and Lee S. and Barbara Davis of Colorado; four beautiful granddaughters, Jacqueline and Jessica Davis and Julia and Emily Tinyszin. She is also survived by her dear friends, especially Evelyn Anton and the Monzillo family.

Besides her parents, Rosemarie was predeceased by her brothers, Francis J. and Joseph F. Palermo and a sister, Peggy Holley. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, Feb. 2, 10 a.m.

He taught civil engineering for many years at UMass Dartmouth and Roger Williams College, and in recent years was an engineering consultant. She was pre1 deceased by her husband, Charles Di Salvo. Mrs. Di Salvo was born March 28, 1907 in Messina, Italy, daughter of the late Thomaso and Santa Arria, and had lived most of her life in Hyde Park, MA. GELSOMINO, Donna M. (Payer) East Hartford, loving wife of Frank A. Gelsomino, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, (January 28, 2001) at the Manchester Manor, after a courageous battle of cancer. Born in Hartford, a daughter of the late Armand and Eleanor Payer, she had resided in East Hartford, for over 30 years. She was a communicant of St.

Rose Church, East Hartford. Besides her husband of 28 years, Donna is survived by two sons, Albert J. Gelsomino and his wife, Julie of East Windsor, Chad M. Gelsomino and his close friend, Dawn Garrett of Bristol; a brother, Armand Payer and his wife, Kimberly of East Hartford; a sister, Karen Hammes and her husband, George of Clarksville, NY; her motherin-law and special friend, Marion A. Donna M. (Payer) Gelsomino, 47, of Barnstead, NH, died (January 27, 2001) at St. Theresa Manor, after a period of declining health. Born in Roxbury, MA, June 11, 1915, was the son of Aram and Satenig (Mouradian) Hagopian. Mr.

Hagopian was employed as a school teacher, retiring from the Bedford Central School District of Mt. Kisco, NY. He was a graduate of Boston University was a member of the and the Disabled American Veterans. Prior to his illness, Mr. Hagopian had resided in Brewster, NY, and had been a member of the Episcopalian religion.

He was a Veteran of World War Il serving in the U.S. Army. Members of his family include his wife, Edna R. (Mardigian) Hagopian of Manchester, NH, and Center Barnstead, NH; three sons, Mark Hagopian of Marlborough, John Hagopian and Paul Hagopian, both of Center Barnstead, NH; a daughter, Anne Marie Hagopian of Ogden, UT; a grandchild; and two step grandchildren; a sister, Florence MacMullen of W. Quincy, MA; nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grandnephews.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at the McHugh Funeral Home, 283 Hanover corner of Beech Manchester, NH. HAGOPIAN, Anthony Anthony Hagopian, 85, of Center Hartford, husband of Helen' (Fox) Holtzman, died Sunday, (January 28, 2001) at his home. Born December 12, 1916 in Fleetwood, PA, the son of the late Herbert and Emily (Staudt) Holtzman, he graduated from Albright College in Reading, PA, and the Dickinson School of Law in Carlisle, PA, and was admitted to the Berks County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations in 1942.

After joining the Aetna Life and Casualty he served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He returned to the Aetna, upon his discharge and was transferred to Hartford, in 1956 as an attorney, in the suit section of the claim department. Mr. Holtzman ultimately became an assistant vice president of the company and retired in 1978.

While in Pennsylvania, he was an active member of Reading Lodge 549, A.F. A.M., retaining his membership until 1995, and was an active member of St. James United Church of Christ in West Reading, PA, serving as a deacon and Sunday school superintendent. In West Hartford, he was an active member of the First Church of Christ, serving as a deacon and teacher, and was also a member of the American Legion, Senior Citizen's Club of West Hartford, and the 39ers" Aetna Retirees Club. In addition to Helen, his wife of 60 years, he is survived by his three daughters and their spouses, Joan E.

and Bruce Schaffer of Columbus, OH, Lois D. and Thomas Rivard of Coventry, and Debra L. and Quin Shea of Vernon; his two granddaughters and their spouses, Susan and John Holm of Dayton, OH, and Karen and Rick Czapla of South Windsor; and his four great grandchildren, David and Sarah Holm, and Jeffrey and Sophie Czapla. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, 12:30 p.m., at the Chapel of the First Church of Christ, Congregational, with the Rev. Lee Ellenwood officiating, followed by a reception Church.

"Sonny" Kibbe, 71, of Springfield Road, Somers, beloved husband of 29 years of Diurna (Green) Kibbe, died Saturday, (January 27, 2001) at Orlando Medical Center, Orlando, FL. Born in Stafford, Sonny was a former resident of Hampden, MA moving to the Somers community in 1948. He was a graduate of Springfield Trade School, Class of 1947. He was employed by the town of Somers highway dept. for 33 years, retiring in 1994 and continued to work part-time for the dept.

He owned and operated the Kibbe Pine View Farm on Springfield Road for 51 years and raised strawberries, chickens, eggs and potatoes. He was the last farmer to raise potatoes in the town of Somers. Sonny was a member of the Tolland County Farm Bureau for 35 years and served on the Board of Directors. He was a life member of the Four Town Fair original founder of the Doodlebug Club, a former member of the Connecticut Egg CO-OP, Connecticut Potato CO-OP, Eastern States Grain CO-OP, American Milk Devon Assn. and the Devon Cattle Club.

ny was also a member of the Scantic Gasoline Engine Club, the Somers Historic Society, American Antique Truck Assn. and the former Tolland Latity Club. He was honorary member of the Somers Fire serving with the dept. for 25 years as an engineer. Besides his Diurna, he is survived by a sister, Marie Worthington of Somers; a brother, Ralph R.

Kibbe of Somers; a godson, Jason Green; 18 nieces and nephews; 29 great nieces and nephseven great-great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Ella Bradley. Funeral services will be held Thursday, 1 p.m. at the Somersville Congregational Church, 22 Maple Street, Somerville. Burial will be in West Cemetery, Somers.
